Dambe Warriors Superfight 2: Maitakwasara wins N1m, Hero Hunter motorcycle

Dogo Maitakwasara, has emerged overall winner of Dambe Superfight 2 which took centre stage during the weekend at the Muri Okunola Center, Victoria Island, Lagos.

The traditional sports saw heavyweight titan, Maitakwasara walk away with a princely prize money of N1m and a brand new Hero Hunter motorcycle after defeating rival Ali Kanin Bello.

Expressing delight after the bout, Maitakwasara dedicated the victory to God after which he vowed to keep improving ahead of forthcoming challenges capable of propelling him to greater heights.

“I dedicate this victory to almighty Allah who has made this bout victorious for me. It’s never by my power nor might but by the will of almighty.

“I’m seeing this fight as a stepping stone to greater heights and I’ll love to use this medium to appreciate all my fans that have always stood behind me.

“As for the sponsor, I say kudos to them and I pray God continue to bless them while they keep rebranding our local sports,” he stated.

The just concluded edition also saw new fighters alongside Algerian mixed martial arts (MMA) star, Salim lose by knockout making debut in the championship.

Salim, described his defeat as a source of motivation for future bouts while giving kudos to other debutantes who are willing to promote the game like other sports.

“In a game like this, there must surely be a winner and I’m not sad being a loser for this is my first time participating in a tournament like this. I love what I’ve seen here in Nigeria and I’ll be glad to return to the ring in the future if need be,” he assured.
